Does Resetting router reset WiFi password?
Once you reset the router, the password for logging into the web interface and the WiFi password will be reset to their default passwords. Check out my post on how to find the default password for your wireless router.
Is resetting your router bad?
NO! A reset wipes out configuration information and returns the router to factory defaults. Do not reset your router unless you know how to configure it and have a record of the configuration information, e.g. admin password, SSID, and so on (see rest of the article for more details).

Why do routers need to be reset?
Your router manages both private and public IP address, and sometimes it messes up. If two devices on your network have the same IP address, or if your router doesn’t have an up-to-date public IP address, your connection might break. Restarting the router resets these IP assignments so things can start working again.

If you don’t have a WPS button on your hub/router, you can set up your extender using the web based set-up with an internet browser.
